Full dentures replace all the teeth on the upper or lower arch. They rest on the gums and are held in place by suction and the natural shape of your mouth. A good fit is everything. Dentures that don't fit well cause sore spots, difficulty chewing, and slipping when you talk or eat.
If you still have some natural teeth, a partial denture fills in the gaps. It's attached to your remaining teeth with clasps and can be removed for cleaning. Partials prevent the remaining teeth from shifting into the empty spaces.
For patients who want a more stable option, dentures can be anchored to dental implants for a much more secure fit. They stay in place when you eat and speak and feel much more like natural teeth.

The process involves several appointments over a few weeks. We take impressions, try in a model, make adjustments, and then deliver the final denture. Rushing the process leads to poor fit, so we don't rush.
There's usually an adjustment period of a few weeks. Your tongue and muscles adapt to the new shape in your mouth. Most people find their speech returns to normal quickly.
Most foods, yes. Very hard or sticky foods may always be a challenge. Well-fitted dentures allow for a much more varied diet than people expect.
Remove them at night, brush them with a soft brush and denture cleaner, and soak them in water or denture solution overnight. We'll walk you through everything at your appointment.
