Dental Implants in Manchester Township, NJ

A permanent fix for a missing tooth.

A dental implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up. It looks like a tooth, works like a tooth, and with proper care, it lasts for decades.

What is a dental implant?

How implants actually work.

Dental Implants in Manchester Township, NJ

The implant

A small titanium post is placed into the jawbone where the missing tooth was. Over a few months, the bone grows around it and holds it firmly in place, just like a natural root.

The crown

Once the implant has integrated, a custom crown is attached on top. It's matched to the color and shape of your surrounding teeth so it looks completely natural.

Why it matters

When a tooth is missing, the jawbone in that area gradually starts to shrink because it's not being used. An implant stops that process. Bridges and dentures don't.

Is an implant right for you?

Who makes a good candidate.

Most adults in good general health with enough jawbone to support an implant are candidates. We use 3D imaging to assess the area before recommending anything. If bone loss is an issue, we'll talk through the options honestly.

Common questions about dental implants

What people ask us.

How long does the implant process take?

From placement to final crown, typically several months. Most of that time is waiting for the implant to integrate with the bone. The actual appointments are shorter than people expect.

Does getting an implant hurt?

The area is numbed for the placement procedure. There's usually some soreness for a few days afterward, similar to having a tooth removed. Most patients manage it with over-the-counter pain relief.

How long do implants last?

With good oral hygiene, dental implants can last 20 years or more. The crown on top may eventually need to be replaced, but the implant itself is designed to be permanent.

What if I've already lost some bone?

Depending on how much bone is present, a bone graft may be needed before placing the implant. Dr. Terry will assess this at your consultation and explain what's involved.

Does insurance cover implants?

Coverage varies by plan. Some insurance plans cover a portion of the cost. We'll help you understand your benefits before you commit to anything.
